Meditation is the process of going inward. Listening to your inner wisdom. Finding your true self. There are many avenues of meditation and at Miss Angie’s Place we find value in many of them. Below are the current methods of meditation facilitated at Miss Angie’s.

1st Wed: Zentangle

When: 11:30-1pm, 1st Wednesday of every month
Who: 14+
Location: Miss Angie’s Place (Studio), 222 South Main St, Pine Island, 55963
Cost to register: $15

Zentangle is a type of drawing that enhances concentration and creativity. It is also thought to promote personal well-being and a feeling of internal balance.
During these sessions Miss Angie will introduce various Zentangle techniques, helping to create your very own collection of Zentangle tiles.
All materials will be provided and no prior drawing experience is necessary.

2nd Wed: Labyrinth Sewing Workshop

When: 11:30-1pm, 2nd Wednesday of every month
Who: 18+
Location: Miss Angie’s Place (The Library), 222 South Main St, Pine Island, 55963
Cost to register: $15

Join us for a morning of meditative stitching.  We will be sharing how to sew to create your own individual finger labyrinth which can be used in prayer and meditation practices. 
According to Veriditas, an organization that promotes labyrinths worldwide, labyrinths are used to “quiet the mind, recover balance in life, and encourage meditation, insight, self-reflection, stress reduction, and to discover innovation and celebration.”
All materials will be provided and no prior sewing experience is necessary.

3rd Wed: Prayer Labyrinth – A Walking Meditation

When: 11:30-1pm, 3rd Wednesday of every month
Who: 18+
Location: Miss Angie’s Place (The Zen Den), 222 South Main St, Pine Island, 55963
Cost to register: $5. A free will donation is appreciated at the session.

Veriditas Certified Facilitator Elise Lewis will give a brief  history and introduction to the labyrinth and will facilitate the  walk.  

According to Veriditas, an organization that promotes  labyrinths world-wide, they are used to “quiet the mind, recover balance in life and encourage meditation,  insight, self-reflection, stress reduction and to discover innovation  and celebration. They are open to people as an interfaith, cross cultural blueprint for well-being. The practice of labyrinth walking  integrates the body with the mind & mind with the spirit.”

There will be a space for quiet reflection, meditation and  creative expression. 

Elise Lewis is a Certified Veriditas Facilitator and Certified SoulCollage® Facilitator. She has relished walking labyrinths since 2005. Elise is a genealogist and search angel and has advocated for restoring the rights of adopted persons for over 25 years. Elise enjoys art, hiking and photography. She serves on a variety of boards advocating for the arts, children, families and restoring adoptee rights.
